Subject Description | Students will undertake a series of studio-based assignments complemented by two smaller exercises aimed at clarifying particular issues of the larger brief. The objective of this class is to investigate the relationship between individual buildings and urban settings, whilst providing an opportunity to examine the technical and formal aspects of multi-family residential design. Students are expected to develop an understanding of the connection between architectural form and construction technology, boundaries and space, exterior and interior, and to be able to represent this connection concisely and clearly in a visual format. Project documentation will include different scales, from site plan to construction details. |
Assessment | Assessment will be based on the final presentation of the major project and a review of a portfolio of all assignments set during the semester to the equivalent of 15,000 words. |
