Subject Description

The subject focuses on construction project planning techniques and resource management systems. Numerically based planning and management techniques utilised in the building and construction industry. Line of balance scheduling, work study, activity sampling, contractor's cost control and cash flow forecasting. Introduction to the computer based techniques of time management, computer calculation of initial project critical path networks of approximately 30 activities. Benchmarking and quality assurance.

Assessment

One 2-hour examination (50%). Tutorial exercises and assignments (50%).
