Subject Description | The subject covers current methods used for sampling and experimentation involving marine biota, including growth, life history, and demography of marine organisms, species interactions, and the effects and detection of natural and human-induced disturbances. The use of ecological principles for managing commercially harvested marine organisms is also covered. Practical work involves survey and experimental design and analysis, and students will develop an understanding of the major methods used for sampling marine organisms and be capable of applying those methods. |
Assessment | Up to 2000 words of essay work and/or reports on practical work and excursions. |
