Subject Description | An examination of curriculum issues in Health and Physical Education through the Curriculum and Standards Framework. Practical workshops and seminars focus upon the primary curriculum and will also prepare students for national coaching awards. Other topics will include motor learning theory and application; paediatric exercise; school issues in human sexuality; swimming and water safety; nutrition and an introduction to Outdoor Education. |
Assessment | Written assignments totalling 2000 words (40%), a 2-hour examination (40%) and a school based project (20%). Satisfactory participation and performance in seminars and practical classes is a hurdle requirement of this subject. To be eligible for assessment in this subject, students must hold teaching and coaching certificates as prescribed. |
