Subject Description | An examination of curriculum issues in Health and Physical Education through the Curriculum and Standards Framework. Practical workshops and seminars focus upon the primary curriculum. Lecture topics include motor learning; paediatric exercise; school issues in human sexuality; swimming and water safety; nutrition and an introduction to Outdoor Education. |
Assessment | Written assignments totalling 3000 words (60%) and a 2-hour examination (40%). Satisfactory participation and performance in seminars and practical classes is a hurdle requirement of this subject. |
