Subject Description

A study of concepts and practice in second language teaching and learning, with the emphasis on developing teachers as reflective practitioners, capable of fostering in their students communicative competence in a new language, and making the experience of language learning an educational one. Students will be introduced to texts and materials commonly used in Primary schools, and will be taught a range of techniques for employing them.

Assessment

Assigments totalling 4000 words or equivalent.

Prescribed Texts

Selected research papers from current journals. Texts applicable to the focus of the project and the investigative methods used.
