Subject Description | The subject covers the following topics in detail: the intersection of law, crime and medicine; practices of law and forensic medicine; regulation of the health professions; euthanasia; neonaticide; abortion; the legitimacy of embryo research; the medico-legal problem. Students who complete the subject should be cognisant of a range of debates on topical issues in medico-legal criminology; be able to conduct library research in legal, criminological and medical materials as they relate to these topics; able to write critically about topics and debates in medico-legal criminology. |
