Subject Description | This subject consists of a two week field trip to China in July with follow-up classes in Melbourne in Semester Two. The subject is designed to develop students' interests in Asia, in China in particular, and in the impacts of economic and social development on the environment. While in China, students will interact with local academics and environmental managers who will inform them about issues and processes in China. This will be supplemented by site visits. The field trip will be under the supervision of the subject coordinators. Students are responsible for the cost of airfares, accommodation and food. |
Assessment | A project proposal of 1500 words at 3rd year, 2000 words at 4th year, and a research paper of 6500 words at 3rd year, 8000 words at 4th year. |
