Subject Description | This subject is an introduction to the study of Romance languages (in particular French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and also Rumanian and Occitan). Students should gain an understanding and knowledge of: the development of the Romance languages from Latin, and aspects of their history; the relationships between Romance languages and the English-speaking world; issues in the nature and structure of the Romance languages; the position and expansion of the Romance languages around the world. |
