Two hours of language classes, one hour of supervised laboratory work and one hour of small group activities per week

Subject Description

Building on 116-009 Intermediate French A and 116-010 Intermediate French B, this subject will deepen students' understanding of French and francophone cultures through the study of more challenging authentic documents from the same range of genres: short prose fiction, poems, feature films, television news stories, newspaper articles. Students will defend their judgements in debates and written exchanges, and use the documents as models for productive exercises.

Assessment

Three written assignments in French totalling 2000 words, an oral assignment in French totalling 1000 words to be submitted on audio cassette, and two listening comprehension exercises totalling 1000 words.
