Subject Description

This subject studies the basic grammar and syntax of Akkadian and the reading of simple texts illustrative of various aspects of Babylonian culture. On completion of the subject students should have acquired the basics of Akkadian grammar; and have an initial understanding of the problems of Akkadian epigraphy (the cuneiform script).
