Subject Description

This subject is a continuation of Semester One, with an emphasis on a different Semitic language. The focus of the subject is also on detailed linguistic analysis and interpretation of selected texts and inscriptions from a wide range of literatures and especially on the literature of the language on which the class will focus. Students should complete the subject with a developed reading knowledge of the Semitic language dealt with, and a general knowledge of the grammar of the Semitic languages.

Assessment

Two hours of class tests, and regular exercises equivalent to 2000 words for 2nd/3rd year, 3000 words for 4th year.
