Subject Description

This subject aims to develop skills in the reading of Japanese- language economic and commercial materials. On completion of the subject students should be familiar with the style and vocabulary of government regulations and reports, business reports and business/economic journalism; be able to comprehend and explain with a high degree of accuracy texts similar to those studied; be able to access background information from the content of the texts studied; and be able to apply and extend the knowledge gained into areas of particular interest to them and use similar materials in their own work.

Assessment

Written work totalling 4000 words for 3rd year, 5000 words for 4th year. 3rd year students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to submit work.
