Subject Description

This subject involves consolidation of basic Russian grammar, formal grammar exercises, use of computer-aided language learning. By the end of the subject students should be able to: demonstrate a solid control of the basic grammatical system; show an active or passive knowledge of the relevant vocabulary from the textbook and texts; translate from Russian into English simpler texts without a dictionary and texts of medium difficulty with the help of a dictionary.

Assessment

A 1.5-hour exam and written work totalling 500 words.
