Subject Description

This subject is an introduction to Biblical Hebrew. It covers some essential elements of the grammar of Biblical Hebrew and introduces some basic vocabulary. It introduces students to aspects of translation of Biblical Hebrew as well as the main lexical aids. It is offered as the first part of a two subject sequence, the second part being Biblical Hebrew: The Book of Ruth.

Assessment

Written work which may comprise weekly exercises and vocabulary tests, and a 2-hour examination.
