Subject Description

In this subject, various types of Greek and Greek-Australian popular and traditional texts are analysed from the point of view of their transmission, collection, classification, cultural status and ideological significance. Theories of popular culture, folklife and oral composition will be studied in relation to Greek texts.

Assessment

A seminar paper of 2000 words, an essay of 3000 words, and participation.
