Subject Description

This subject consolidates students' knowledge of basic grammar and extends the range of grammar patterns and vocabulary acquired at VCE level. It also provides training in oral/aural skills appropriate to post-VCE competence level. Approximately 100 Chinese characters will be taught and a wide range of audio-visual materials will be used. The subject is comprised of grammar, reading, writing, conversation and aural comprehension, all of which are examinable.

Assessment

Two 2-hour examinations, and two 5-minute oral examinations, and class participation. To be eligible for assessment students must pass 70% of weekly tests, attend 70% of classes and hand-in 70% of homework.
