Subject Description

The objective of AK308 is to develop students' intensive reading skills through a program of specifically selected Korean media articles, supplemented by oral and written exercises. Materials are drawn from current Korean newspapers and magazines, and presented in such a way as to encourage further development of Korean language skills. The subject is comprised of grammar, reading, writing, and oral work, all of which are examinable. The following three topics will be covered throughout the semester: The Korean Community's Lifestyle in Australia; The Korean Community's Eating Habits in Australia; and Education & Language Maintenance of the Korean Community in Australia. Each topic will run for a duration of four weeks, with one week being allocated to class tutorials (two 2-hour classes), two weeks to private research and one week to oral presentations.

Assessment
