Three hours of lectures and two hours of practical language classes per week

Subject Description

This subject builds on first year work and begins to look seriously at phonological, morphological and syntactical structures while continuing to improve the fluency of students. Post-World War II literature is studied.

Assessment

A book review of 1500 words, and an assignment of 1500 words, and a 1-hour written test, and a 2-hour oral exam (including a role play in small groups, a short dialogue in Vietnamese and a multiple choice aural-oral test). Students must attend at least 70% of classes to be eligible for assessment.
