Prerequisites

This subject assumes some knowledge of Modern Greek but without having attempted VCE Modern Greek. Students are required to sit a placement test and get the permission of the subject coordinator to enrol.

Two 2-hour practical language classes per week

Subject Description

In this subject, students learn to discuss issues relating to contemporary Greek and Australian society in Greek, extending their vocabulary and knowledge of grammar as required. Oral and literacy skills are developed primarily through use of media reports and articles, and film.

Assessment

Assignments and class exercises, and written and oral-aural tests equivalent to 4000 words, and class participation.
