Subject Description | The subject aims to consolidate the skills acquired in VCE Portuguese Introductory Portuguese 2P-2. Students will continue to acquire and perfect knowledge of the language through a range of activities involving language laboratory and computer aided exercises, practical work in small groups and pairs, and through the study of Luso-Brazilian culture and society as represented in the media, in cinema, and in representative examples of Luso-Brazilian literature. Students who complete this subject should be able to speak, write and understand Portuguese at an advanced intermediate level and have some knowledge of informal registers and regional variants. |
Assessment | One 30-minute class paper, written exercises, class participation, comprehension, production and transcription exercises, an essay of 1500 words, and a 2-hour examination. |
Prescribed Texts | A Reading Package of photocopied articles from the department together with a reading list will be available at the beginning of the semester. |
