Subject Description | The course will, particularly through supporting assignment work related to other subjects in the course, concentrate on developing students' ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, include: Analysis and synthesis of a range of materials including briefs, assignment questions and requirements; interpretation (and simple production) of maps, plans and design concepts. Written presentation skills; organisation of information; graphic communication support; referencing and bibliographic techniques; style, syntax and written expression. Verbal presentation skills: organisation of information; audience orientation; visual support material and spatial facilitation; audio visual aids; presentation and question asking/answering; non-verbal communication, interpersonal communication skills. |
Assessment | Verbal presentation, class participation and written assignments not exceeding 3,500 words. |
