Subject Description

The formative aspects of architecture and architectural theory in Russia, Germany and Italy during the political upheavals experienced between 1914 and 1945. Socialism, Nazism and Italian Fascism and their connections with major architectural figures, architectural education, urban and residential programs, exhibitions, theoretical texts, and other modes of propaganda are examined.

Assessment

Projects, seminar paper and exercises to the equivalent of not more than 5000 words.
