Subject Description

An exploration of the relation of architectural form and practice to its social, political, economic, philosophical, cultural and interdisciplinary context. An introduction to a broad range of theory relevant to architecture including: Architectural Typology, Semiotics, Phenomenology, Deconstruction, Regionalism, Postmodern theory, Behavioural theory, Urban theory, Aesthetics, Feminist theory, Critical Social theory.

Assessment

Assignments (e.g. exercises, essays, and class presentations) equivalent to not more than 5000 words.
