Subject Description

Topics covered include: Public and private sector engineering management including responsibility, authority, human relations, industrial relations, quality management. CPM, PERT network techniques for planning, resource scheduling, coding and the use of work breakdown structures. An introduction to systems management, systems analysis, mathematical and linear programming. Basic use of accounting ledgers, profit and loss statements, balance sheets and financial management techniques

Assessment

One written examination not exceeding three hours (55%), three assignments or work requirements each of up to a maximum of 2000 words or equivalent (45%).
