Subject Description

This field-based course covers fundamental aspects of farm revegetation planning, and relies on students' abilities to undertake self-directed learning. Students will be expected to participate in field-based learning exercises and information gathering so as to identify revegetation opportunities and constraints, and propose appropriate designs.

By the end of the subject the student should: appreciate the principles of diagnosis and design in the development of agroforestry and farm forestry opportunities; have an understanding of the role of trees in providing for private landowner needs and aspirations; be able to undertake a multipurpose revegetation design project; and be familiar with the opportunities for landowners to produce commercial forest products from private native forests.

Assessment
