Subject Description

Programmed instruction under individual guidance from the tutor, then translation of texts from students' fields of study. To provide basic skills in reading German. On completion of the subject students should be able to read and translate into English a passage taken from an authentic German text with the aid of a dictionary.

Assessment

Homework assignments equivalent to 1000 words, and a 3-hour examination.
