Subject Description

The contemporary roles, status and forms of English(es) in the world, including: the general causes and effects of the global spread of English, an examination of the status and divergent forms of the many new Englishes, an exploration of the effects of the spread of English, and an overview of attempts to resist such effects.

Assessment

A presentation of a variety of English in context and study report of 2000 words, and a 2000-word essay for 3rd-year. A presentation of a variety of English in context and study report of 2000 words, and a 3000-word essay for 4th-year.
