Two 1-hour lectures and a tutorial per week. There will be no tutorials in the first or the middle week

Subject Description

The differences between women's and men's use of language and how men and women are represented in language, 'sexism in language', the role of language in establishing and regulating gender divisions, and models for linguistic intervention and change.

Assessment

Two 1000-word assignments, and a 2000-word essay.
