Subject Description

The subject focuses on the impact of socio-cultural change on, and cultural representations of, Love, Family and Sexuality in a variety of cultural contexts and social systems. This subject also explores a range of non-normative arrangements regarding family and sexuality. Three projects enable students to analyse a range of variation regarding the systems and the meanings of love, family and sexuality that occurs between norms, representations and actual daily living. Specific socio-cultural comparisons will enable sociological insights and arguments to be developed using grounded theory approach.

Assessment

A class test and written projects totalling 4000 words.
