Subject Description | The subject considers recent events and cases in the United States, such as: Watergate, the Stanford University Research Grants Scandal, the investigation of senior influential members of the Congress such as Bob Packwood, James Wright, and Dan Rostenkowski, the case of the Keating five, the Iran-Contra affair, the Clarence Thomas Confirmation, and the appearance of impropriety surrounding the Clinton presidency. These examples will be used to consider issues such as campaign fraud, the misuse of funds, false reimbursement, conflict of interest, the peddling of influence, and sexual harassment.
