One 2-hour lecture/seminar per week for the first 11 weeks, and a 1-hour tutorial per week beginning the third week of semester

Subject Description

A discussion of the dominant lines of thought in Analytic Philosophy this century, dwelling mainly on issues concerning meaning, truth, philosophical analysis, and the changing views of proper philosophical methodology. Much attention will be given to the influence, failures, and successes of Wittgenstein.

Assessment

Two essays each of 2000 words each, plus regular attendance and participation in tutorials.
