Subject Description

An in-depth reading and examination of ethnographies and methods of comparative ethnology that have defined the discipline of anthropology in the twentieth century. Students who complete this subject should have a thorough knowledge of a corpus of classic and contemporary ethnographies on which the discipline has been built; have thorough knowledge of the historical development of the discipline; have a broad-based general knowledge of ethnological methods.

Assessment

Written work totalling 5000 words.
