Subject Description

The development of the Russian novel in the 19th century. Close analysis of three major novels by Turgenev, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. By the end of the subject students should be able to: understand the development of the genre in Russian literature; demonstrate a close understanding of the selected works.

Assessment

Written work totalling 5000 words.
