Subject Description | A contrastive linguistic study of Russian and Czech. Theory and practice, the latter mainly in reading. Serves as an introduction to practical Czech. By the end of the subject students should: have a basic understanding of Czech, especially in contrast to Russian; be able to read any Czech texts with the help of a dictionary; be able to pronounce Czech reasonably well; be in a position to continue independently learning to use Czech at all levels. |
Assessment | Written work totalling 5000 words. |
