Subject Description

A beginners subject covering the basic grammatical system of Russian; teaches students to translate simple texts from Russian into English and vice versa; provides students with an active knowledge of around 500 words and a passive knowledge of a further 200 words (all from the textbook).

Assessment

A 1.5-hour exam, and written work totalling 500 words.

  • E Stepanova et al, Russky yazyk dlia vsekh (Russian for Everybody). 6th edition or later.
