Subject Description

This subject examines German literature, social and cultural history from 1930 to the present through a study of selected readings. Students will gain an understanding of the socially critical function of literature throughout this period, and be introduced to German dissident writing in particular since 1960.

Assessment

An assignment or classpaper of 1000 words, and written work totalling 4000 words.
