Subject Description | Students will have gained an understanding of the cultural, intellectual and social framework that shaped Germany in the period 1945 to 1990. They will have been introduced to a range of seminal 20th-century German texts of a political, literary and social nature which cast light on Germany's emergence as a 'cultural nation' and thereby encountered different interpretative approaches to cultural studies in German. No knowledge of the German language required. |
