Subject Description

This subject will allow students to study key aspects of contemporary Italian culture, primarily through the analysis of specific literary texts. Students will also have the opportunity to study the development of Italian society in the postwar period. By the end of the course, students will have been introduced to a small number of contemporary literary texts in order to improve their standard of comprehension and to gain some understanding of the process of literary/cultural criticism. They should also have acquired the ability to examine critically various aspects of postwar Italian history and culture.

Assessment

Two essays of 1500 words each, and a 1-hour written test.
