Subject Description

This subject builds upon the linguistic abilities developed in first-year (post-VCE) French. It aims at consolidating and expanding the four major language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) by intensive practical training. This is achieved through a variety of activities, in particular: group discussions, formal study of grammar, discourse forms and vocabulary, creative and factual writing, reading, listening to and watching authentic recorded documents. The materials used will broaden students' knowledge of French and Francophone high and popular cultures.

Assessment

Oral and written work equivalent to 2000 words, and a 20-minute listening comprehension test, and a 60-minute final written test.
