Four hours of language classes per week, including one hour of small group activities. Full attendance is required

Subject Description

Students will build on writing and reading skills acquired in Beginners French IA and Beginners French IB. Students successfully completing the course should be able to: write accurately in basic French, using the range of grammatical structures studied and in a range of genres from short descriptive texts to letters and poems; read a variety of French texts from poems to newspaper items and short articles; and appreciate aspects of francophone cultures.

Assessment

Written work and class tests equivalent to 2000 words, and a 2--hour exam. Students who have attended less than 80% of classes will be ineligible to sit the final exam.
