Two hours of lectures and a 1-hour of tutorial and a 1-hour computer laboratory class per week

Subject Description

The subject is an introduction to the elements of Latin; reading simple texts; translation exercises; background lectures on Roman culture. The aim is for students of the subject to acquire the elements of the grammar, syntax and vocabulary of Latin, and attain reading skills sufficient to begin reading literary texts.

Assessment

Written work which may comprise regular exercises and class tests totalling 2000 words, and a 2-hour examination.
