Subject Description

In this subject students will read a selection of short pieces of modern and contemporary prose writing. Selection will cover a number of genres, both literary and documentary and will survey a range of modern written styles. While this will broaden their language skills they will also gain confidence and independence in handling written Chinese language material which has not been filtered through textbook editions.

Assessment

A 2-hour examination, and translations, exercises and short tests totalling 2000 words.
