Subject Description

The format of the subject is the same as Japanese 5A. In the reading session short stories and essays by contemporary writers will be studied to familiarise students with different styles of writing. The other session will continue to develop further spoken skills.

Assessment

Assignments and quizzes totalling 1000 words, and a 2-hour written examination, and a 20-minute oral/aural perception test for 2nd and 3rd-year. Assignments and quizzes totalling 1000 words, and a 2-hour examination, and a 20-minute oral/aural perception test, and a translation exercise of 1000 words. Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take examinations.
