Subject Description | A series of seminar presentations and discussions on a topic or topics of contemporary or special interest. Topics chosen will vary from year to year, depending on current events and the availability of guest speakers. Some of the seminars in any given year will be conducted in Chinese. Please consult the Chinese Course and Subject Guide for details. Students who complete this subject will gain basic note-taking skills for use in lectures conducted in Chinese; practice in implementing strategies for improving their listening comprehension; skill in précis-writing; and familiarity with public or academic discourse in Chinese in a particular subject area. |
Assessment | Written work totalling 4000 words. |
