Prerequisites | Standard Chinese 3A and Standard Chinese Phonetics A if taken in first semester. Students must be concurrently enrolled in Standard Chinese Phonetics B if not taken previously. This requirement is waived for students who have passed Standard Chinese 1B and Spoken Standard Chinese 1B. |

Subject Description | An advanced subject in Chinese language and literature for students who have passed Standard Chinese 3A. At the conclusion of this subject students. They will be able to read a variety of extracts from both classical and modern Chinese literature. They will be familiar with Chinese current affairs. They will have improved their ability to write Standard Chinese in a variety of styles. |
Assessment | A 2-hour examination, and an essay of 1000 words, and homework totalling 1000 words. |
