Standard Chinese 2A and Standard Chinese Phonetics A (if relevant). Students must be concurrently enrolled in Standard Chinese Phonetics B, if they have not previously studied Standard Chinese 1B and Standard Spoken Chinese 1B.

Subject Description

Advanced spoken and written Chinese for students who have completed Standard Chinese 2A. By the conclusion of this subject students will be able to read independently a variety of original Chinese materials and to conduct discussions in Chinese on social and cultural issues.

Assessment

A 10-minute oral examination, a 2-hour examination, and written work totalling 2000 words.
