Subject Description | A review of Jewish literature in English translation from the Enlightenment to the present, featuring a variety of authors, genres and texts. The principal theme of the subject is the exploration of literary perspectives on major social and political issues of Jewish civilisation, such as diaspora and return, exile and homeland, uprooting and alienation, and literary responses to the Holocaust. |
Assessment | Written work totalling 2000 words, and a 2-hour seen examination. |
