Subject Description

The major historians and novelists of classical antiquity, studied as literary figures. Students, on completion of the subject, should have acquired an understanding of the main features of ancient historical writing and the ancient novel, from a careful reading of the main Ancient Greek and Roman writers of history and novels.

Assessment

Written work totalling 2000 words, and a 2-hour examination.
