Subject Description

This subject examines selected poems from the earliest English poetic anthology, in the original language, with emphasis on the historical and religious context. Students who complete this subject successfully will have acquired advanced knowledge of Old English; will be familiar with trends in the critical reception of Old English literature over the past four centuries; and will be aware of how to use information technology to assist them in more advanced research.

Assessment

Written work totalling 5000 words.
